Getting There

So you’ve graduated from college and you already developed all the skills you’re going to need to do your first job well, right?

Maybe, maybe not. Chances are, you may need some help.

And BOC is dedicated to helping new hires improve their skills. So from the moment you arrive at BOC, experts with BOC’s learning and development department will be there to help you hone your leadership skills and to help you start thinking about your long-term career growth at BOC.

New hires participate in a new employee orientation program, designed to provide an overview of BOC, the markets in which it operates and the products it makes and delivers to customers.   Later, once they’ve had a chance to acclimate to their new workplace environment, new engineering recruits begin a self-paced comprehensive technology training program. This program provides an excellent foundation on which to build technical and commercial know-how.

In addition to on-the-job training, you can also expect to develop such skills as project management, report writing and presentation techniques. BOC also encourages self-paced individual and career development plans and even provides financial support toward advanced degree programs that are relevant to your job.

BOC understands how important it is to give employees meaningful feedback at every stage in their career development. We'll arrange for reviews at the end of each rotation.  Participants will get a salary review after 12 months of employment and again at the program's completion.

You learned a lot in college – you wouldn’t have gotten this far if you hadn’t. But there are still many skills you’ll need to develop in order to realize your career goals. And BOC will be right with you every step of the way.
