"Taking the path less traveled" has been a consistent feature of my career development with BOC. I’ve been able to take a freshly-minted engineering degree and turn it into global opportunities in process safety, project management, accounting and more recently, business planning. At all times, BOC has valued and supported my diverse choices – even offering to finance my MBA studies at a time when I was looking to move to a commercial role in the company. I often wonder where I would be today had I not made the decision to join a firm as open-minded and employee-focused as BOC has proven to be.

Working in our PGS North America Business Planning department, I am in constant contact with marketing, sales and our operations and support functions as we assist senior management in determining the strategic direction for the business. I’ve been able to have real impact on the success of our step-out opportunities in the Environmental Services area, helping to take a business model from conception through to Board approval for a strategic acquisition. And perhaps most importantly, I’ve had the chance to recruit and mentor graduates from top schools in the US. BOC needs bright and enthusiastic individuals if it is to deliver on the ambitious growth targets set by senior management – the challenge is great but the long-term potential is tremendous.
