Cutting Edge

Students who have earned their undergraduate and graduate degrees are candidates for BOC’s Engineer Skills Development (ESD) Program, which focuses on technical and professional growth through rotational assignments, training programs and mentoring. During their first 18 months in ESD, participants will travel through three job rotations to gain exposure to a variety of areas within BOC. The program helps participants to develop their skills in various areas of expertise and to meet and work with people at all levels within the company.

Participants will receive an extensive orientation to BOC and to the specific business units to which they are assigned. They also will be assigned a home manager, who will act as a supervisor and coach to oversee their progress.  During their rotations, a rotation manager will oversee the participants' progress and provide feedback on their performance during and after the participant has finished the rotation.

The program also consists of structured training programs, and participants will attend several different technical and commercial development courses. Upon successful completion of the ESD program, participants will receive a full-time assignment within BOC.

Qualified candidates must be highly motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills, recognized leadership experience, some work experience, and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher in the following disciplines:

    • BS/MS Chemical Engineering
    • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering

Resumes are accepted from September - January of each year and candidates are hired in July.

Resumes should be sent to university.relations@us.gases.boc.com.
